Today we woke up and motored to Muskmellon Bay. The crew had the entire day to have fun and relax. It was JJ's birthday and it began with us throwing eggs at an Action Quest boat as they threw water balloons at us. At the bay we got to sail, water ski, and wakeboard. We were also able to relax on the boat. We baked a cake for JJ, which was much more difficult than expected. Rachael and Nick had a cake eating contest with the left overs!

Sailing and Turtling

Today was a very relaxed day. It wasn't too windy and we had a lot of free time while we sailed. One funny, unexpected event of the day was when Hillary started a food fight. Everyone was confused and not sure about what was going on. Eventually the girls caught on and started throwing Ramen noodles at each other. When this started, I was reading my book so I didn't catch on. I just sat and watched them with a baffled expression on my face. We also went turtling today at Moskito Island, but it was unsuccessful. We were also allowed to take all fresh water showers when we stopped to get more water.

Beach Cleaning

Today we woke up in Anegada Harbour. We were all looking forward to pancakes, but the chefs found out that there were no eggs. After some improvisation we got biscuits for breakfast. After breakfast, we divided into three groups in which we were supposed to do beach clean ups. We were dropped off in three different places along the beach. After the clean up we went to a restaurant and had a nice lunch. The restaurant was by the beach so after we ate, we were able to go swimming. Amy, Sarah, Cammie, and I had a belly flop competition. When we got back to the boat we had some freetime and got to do our laundry (that was very enjoyable). For dinner we had summer Thanksgiving.

Iguana Cage Demolition/Turtle Tagging

Today was the first day we stayed in one place for the entire day, but we were still very busy with the awesome projects. After scrambled eggs and muffins the Lifeworks team split up into two groups. One group went to the Anegada Rock Iguana Rehab Center where we helped the staff to disassemble some cages. The best part of the day was when we went turtle tagging cowboy style. The team split into groups of 4 and went with a local named Rasta Jim to go catch and tag turtles. Each group caught 3 turtles, except ours, which caught 4! We set the Lifeworks record with 13 Anegada turtles. It was a lot of fun and we got to name the untagged turtles. I named mine Winston Churchill.

Sailing and Bus-Boy/Waitress at the Rock Iguana Rehab Center

Today we got to sleep in because the dance went so late last night. After waking up and eating breakfast, we motored to Leverick Bay. We stopped at the supermarket quickly and got some fresh water. Then we sailed for about an hour and forty-five minutes to Anegada. We were cruising at an average speed of 8.5 knots. We went to the Rock Iguana Rehabilitation Center in the afternoon and made the little creatures their lunch. Dan took the iguana's orders. We came back to the boat to shower and prepare dinner. It was mexican night. Jon and Johan practiced their "I feel.." statements at the table. Overall it was another fantastic day aboard Alexandra PP.

Turtle Tagging and Snorkeling Mangroves

At breakfast today we discovered that earlier in the morning one of our crew had left our ship. Abigail Kary, our wild Canadian on board, needed to leave us. She will be missed. After breakfast, we went snorkeling for sea turtles. After a 40 minute chase, Maude Sherman Weatherfield (named for our good friend Abbie) was tagged and released back to the sea. Tonight we met the rest of Action Quest at Vixen Point. A hefty barbeque and late night dance awaits us...

Partake in Arts and Crafts and Sports with the Children

Location: Spanishtown - Bregado Flax Educational Center and Mountain Point
Today we woke up bright and early at 6:10 to get breakfast started and take a short motor over to Spanishtown where we entertained the children at the Bregado Flax Educational Center. They were a little quiet at first, but quickly got involved in a soccedr game and face painting. After giving them a quick lecture/activity on littering, we headed over to the abandoned copper mine where we enjoyed PBandJ and an amazing view of the ocean and rocks. We ended the day with a short sail to Mountain Point where we anchored and enjoyed tomato stroganoff for dinner.
